Kaitlynn & Penny - My sweet girl, Penny. Penny is the first milk goat that I have ever owned. She has produced the milk for our Goat’s Milk Soap thus far, she is so special to me. Currently at age 3 she enjoys taking selfies, eating the most beautiful rose bushes at the house and singing me goodnight & good morning tunes. She is such a sweet girl and I enjoy milking so much. Here is one of her favorite selfies of us!🤪 Penny, you’re a pretty great business partner, Thanks for all you do!❤️
There are so many beautiful things in life, these guys are one of my favorites. Every time I walk outside or across the yard they come running to the fence to see me, hollering to get my attention. What a beautiful example of how we ought to run to Christ, and patiently wait on Him.
John 10:27 says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”
Those goats know me as their provider and care taker. They catch me looking out the window at them and they scream with excitement. God, I want to be that eager to have Your attention, even though we have it all the time. You are just a prayer away, You are always listening. “Looking out the window” checking on us.
I love these constant reminders of how God feels for us. Life is so beautiful!😊❤️
Kaitlynn Setup at Tractor Supply - The very first pop up sale at Tractor Supply in Midland.
Yesterday we had an interesting day. This is not supposed to happen but it is such a cool picture. Plus, we learned something & learning is always good!
As you saw in our video last week, ( https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=frfpKd7VW2o ) we removed a few frames to pour the bees into the box. Then we placed the inner cover over the bottom box & we put the feeder on top of the inner cover. We then placed a hive box around the feeder and placed the outer lid on top.
The bees were supposed to build their comb on the inside on the frames, but they built it on the top because they had extra room in there.
This was a shocker when we open it up! 😳
We ended up scraping the combs off the top and putting the bees back in their hive.
We will check the hive again in 3 days after this rain goes away.

Boone and Bishop are earning their keep and getting good exercise by making hay the old way. We are using a McCormick-Deering International High Gear no.9 to cut our hay. This sickle mower is over 75 years old and still cutting strong! Sure it would be easier and faster to just buy the hay, but we would miss the opportunity to spend the day with our horses. Sure, there are some things we do that may not make sense to others but that's ok. I've never understood why people pay good money for a gym membership when they could simply volunteer to work on a farm!

The old Jeep comes in handy around the farm. When you have hay in the field and a threat of rain you leave the horses and hookup the 4x4 to get the job done!
